WinteRace Cortina: Porsche takes the top step of the podium

An extraordinary edition of the WinteRace Cortina has come to an end, the ASI winter event that put the participating crews to the test. Porsche dominated the skill trials in both the Classic and ICON categories.

In the Classic category, first place was claimed by Sergio Mazzoleni and Silvia Gotti driving a 1963 Porsche 356 SC. The second step of the podium went to Domenico Battagliola and Emanuel Piola with a 1935 Fiat 508, who also won the Trofeo Kraler in Dobbiaco. Completing the podium in third place Porsche 356 pre A Speedster del 1955 dfrivers Alberto Battistella e Dario Soldan. In the ICON category, Porsche dominated the rankings. Riccardo Perletti and Franco Bachechi secured first place with a 2024 Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabrio, followed by Andrea Narducci and Vincenzo Monetti in a 2014 Porsche 911. Third place was taken by di Giuseppe di Maio e Riccardo di Maio with a 2013 Porsche 911 Cabrio 4 S Sport Design.

WinteRace Cortina: Girard Perregaux present Laureato Skeleton WinteRace Edition

WinteRace Cortina: previews of the route

The track will develop over a total of about 460 kilometers, with departure and arrival in the picturesque Corso Italia of Cortina d’Ampezzo.

The first day will lead the crews through the picturesque pass of Forcella Cibiana, then continue along the Passo Duran and cross Agordo to reach the Cereda Pass and reach the typical alpine village of Siror. Once in Primiero the crews will visit the ancient Pieve and the Palace of the Mines, then show the public the cars in the historic center of Primiero, lunch break at Malga Ces in San Martino di Castrozza and return to Cortina crossing the Rolle Pass, Passo Valles, Lago di Alleghe and Passo Giau.

The second stage includes a fascinating itinerary between Italy and Austria. Through the Passo Tre Croci, Misurina Lake and past Dobbiaco and San Candido the route will wind in Austria through the region of Carinthia. In Kötschach-Mauthen, the local community will welcome you right after the skill tests. On the way back to Italy, a stop will be made in Lienz for presentation from the cars and lunch break at the Grand Hotel Lienz. The test will be carried out at the airport of Innsbruck, and the caravan will return to Dobbiaco, where the public presentation and final tests will take place. Cimabanche, will be the last alpine pass before returning to Cortina d’Ampezzo.

The twelfth edition of the WinteRace Cortina will be present at the Bologna Fair from October 24 to 27 with its own stand A54 in pavilion 21.

The twelfth edition of the WinteRace Cortina will be present at the Bologna Fair from October 24 to 27 with its own stand at the Salone Internazionale Auto Moto d’Epoca, dedicated to classic motor enthusiasts.
The WinteRace Cortina stand, A/54, is in pavilion 21, and the event organizers will be available to provide detailed information on all the new features of the much-anticipated event, which is registered on the A.S.I. (Automotoclub Storico Italiano) calendar under the name of the Circolo Veneto AutoMoto d’Epoca Giannino Marzotto.

WinteRace Cortina: registrations are open

The twelfth edition of the WinteRace Cortina will take place from March 13 to 15, 2025, and registrations are already open. The WinteRace Cortina is an A.S.I. (Italian Historical Automobile Club) event and will be listed on the calendar under the name of the Circolo Veneto AutoMoto d’Epoca Giannino Marzotto. Fifty historic cars built up to 1999 can participate in the WinteRace Cortina, along with 20 vehicles entered in the Icon section, produced from 2000 to today and selected based on their qualifications as iconic benchmarks of global production. The WinteRace Cortina will also be present at Auto e Moto d’Epoca, scheduled at end October in Bologna, and at Arezzo Classic Motors on January 11 and 12, 2025.
